Local Authority Research Engagement Sessions

A key aspect of our programme to build a research culture and infrastructure for adult social care in the West Midlands is to engage with individual local authorities in the region to identify what is required to do this.

We are holding a number of events that will run for 1.5 hours each aimed at promoting research engagement and developing practitioner research capacity. The focus will be on;

  • WM ADASS funded access for the British Journal of Social Work for 12 months and how this can be used to support evidence informed practice
  • NIHR research career pathways and career development awards and how we want to support practitioners to apply
  • Promoting our research survey focusing on ‘Research Mindedness Amongst Adult Social Care Staff’ and seeking support for this

This is session is open to all adult social care staff, social workers, occupational therapists but also commissioning staff who may be looking at research opportunities.
