Plan 2022-23 - 'We said we did'

We made the following progress against our published plan for 2022-23:

  • Contributed significantly to national ADASS & LGA sector-led improvement and ASC reform offers, tools and resources
  • Co-ordinated approach to rapid interpretation & implementation of key guidance (especially the reform agenda), the escalation of key issues nationally and sharing of good practice
  • Delivery of thematic networks contributing over 3000 hours of focused time for peer to peer learning, improvement and innovation
  • Successfully developed and appointed three new Social Work Research Champions and started delivery of new social care research programme
  • New joint projects, partnerships and/or pooled resources with a range of partners including TLAP, West Midlands Employers, NHSX, AHSN, NHS Midlands, the Strategy Unit, University of Birmingham, National Voices
  • Development of Video Innovation Library, now with 750+ minutes of on demand video case study and good practice content. Raised our profile and reach locally, regionally, nationally
  • Development of practical resources & thought leadership pieces to support improvement e.g. Flipping Social Care, Digital Switchover Comms Guidance, Assurance Toolkit, Housing with Care Benchmarking
  • New regional Adult Social Care Jobs Hub promoting career opportunities and stories of working in the sector joint with West Midlands Employers
  • Effective preparation, major risk identification and weekly oversight of key issues and strong leadership with NHS Midlands and care provider partners
  • Social Work Practice and on site Assurance Readiness Reviews completed or underway for each council
  • Launched our Regional Co-production Advisory Group, piloted a Lived Experience Coaching Programme & invested in co production via our lived experience fees and expenses policy
  • Joint programme with NHS Midlands on learning disability and autism including support to Regional Self Advocacy Network
  • Successfully piloted new and innovative projects like providing preventive, online support to carers (Mobilise) and lived experience coaching and mentoring to senior leaders (National Voices)
  • Further development of the Data Hub to align to emerging ASC Assurance framework and key national digital programmes
