Safeguarding Leads

WM ADASS has a well established Safeguarding Leads network that includes adult social care Safeguarding Board chairs from each of our 14 councils, along with strong links to the local Chairs of Safeguarding Boards.

This video was made from a recording of an online demonstration of MAST at a webinar in November 2022.

A transcript of the MAST video is available in our Resources section.

About this network

The Network meets virtually bi-monthly to support the West Midlands Improvement Programme providing information, improvement and best practice sharing for activists across the region. It also aims to:

  • help adults to be as safe as they wish to be, subject to full and proper application of mental health and capacity law and regulations
  • promote social justice and narrow the gap in health and care outcomes for people facing inequality
  • further develop and maintain a regional safeguarding adults’ network to identify and respond to the challenges and changing landscape
  • help implement successfully the new Liberty Protection Safeguards arrangements

The Network is sponsored by Nigel Minns, Director of Adult Services, Warwickshire County Council, chaired by Rachel Swain, Solihull Safeguarding Adults Board business manager and supported by Alan Lotinga, Safeguarding lead, WM ADASS
