Anna Walker

Anna has over 17 years' experience across social care, health and the voluntary sector, most recently as Strategy and Planning Manager at Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, where she was lead for Carers, Workforce, Dementia and Engagement. 

Anna began her career on the LGA's National Graduate Development Programme where she worked across policy and children's social care, followed by roles at Warwickshire County Council and Coventry City Council undertaking transformation and improvement projects in Adult Social Care. A keen advocate of systems thinking, Anna is committed to streamlining processes and focussing on value for the citizen.

Anna's recent projects include the creation and delivery of a Workforce Strategy for the care sector, focussing on innovation around recruitment, transport and valuing staff, which has garnered interest locally and nationally. She also led the creation and implementation of an all-age carers' strategy, which brought together partners from across the borough to improve outcomes for carers.

Anna has a postgraduate diploma in Local Government Management from the University of Warwick and recently completed the Certificate of Credit in Commissioning and Purchasing for Public Care through the IPC at Oxford Brooks University.
