A key aspect of our programme to build a research culture and infrastructure for adult social care in the West Midlands is to engage with individual local authorities in the region to identify what is required to do this.
During 2024 we held a number of events aimed at promoting research engagement and developing practitioner research capacity. Events highlighted:
- WM ADASS funded access to the British Journal of Social Work and how this can be used to support evidence informed practice
- NIHR research career pathways and career development awards and support practitioners for practitioners wanting to apply
- Promoting our research study Barriers to engagement in research in Adult Social Care
