A direct payments network has been operating informally in the region for a few years, but became a formal network of WM-ADASS in 2022 as chair Dave Drayton-Green explains in this video.
The way direct payments and individual service funds are set up and operate across councils in the region, and the scale of the activity varies widely. The network is a great forum for sharing experience, good practice and sometimes frustrations, in an area of growing importance.
